Exercise Prescription

Involves a combination of stretching and strengthening which are designed to improve tolerance to activity which is necessary for a return to activities of daily living or a return to work!  Often useful to attain a sense of healing and wellness!

Ultrasound

Uses sound waves to penetrate tissue causing vibration and heat in muscles and other soft tissues - it is very useful in the treatment of tendon.  Provides results similar to heat or massage therapy but can create a deeper effect.  It is used for the treatment of scar tissue, tendonitis, bursitis and  muscle strain. Often used to treat shoulder impingement, shoulder pain and shoulder bursitis. Treatment usually lasts only 5 minutes.

Microcurrent

This gentle, barely noticeable current is effective at decreasing pain and inflammation.

IFC (Interferential Current)

Involves electrodes placed on muscles for about 12-15 minutes.  Will ease a numb nerve, muscle strain, muscle tightness, reduce swelling (edema) and decrease pain.  Very good for herniated disc (bulging disc).

TENS (Trans-Electro-Muscle-Stimulator)

Often used by athletes and very effective for chronic pain, TENS interrupts the flow of pain signals to the brain.
